This might be the most courageous page/post on my entire blog. I’ve thought about it for a couple of weeks. It will expose a part of myself that is much whined about (by me). I’m not sure people believe me when I tell them about my lack of house keeping prowess. I’m not even – as one of my much admired and respected thesis committee members put it (referring to a different skill set, of course) – “exceedingly competent”.
Warning: this page may cause you to lose respect for me.
So why post it, then?
I’m not entirely sure, except that a friend observed that the state of the kitchen seems to mirror the state of my mind on any given day. Interesting. One might wonder how it reflects the state of other people’s minds in this house we share. But back to me.

Someone in our home must read my blog (rants go unnoticed and mind reading is a fickle art)… Sunny!

Summer’s here at last! Kids are out of school and I feel a sense of renewal. So many things to do and enjoy.
Looking for a life of peaceful, loving times with the girls. It’s time, alright. Yes.

It’s been a while since I posted my Kitchen Omen. Some things change. Some, not so much. Life as a freelance writer is good. It makes me appreciate my kitchen more. I love to sit at the kitchen table with my laptop and look out the window as I work. It’s nice. Life is moving in the right direction, these days. I keep the kitchen clean as it suits me. And I’m not mortified anymore. Still a teeny bit embarrassed, but much less worried about it.
